Welcome to Canterbury Tiles

Well first and foremost welcome to my website and I hope you find it useful. Let me tell you a little about myself along with a little bit about my career… I’m 66 years of age, and have a wonderful family. I tell you this because family is important to me and I’m sure that it’s important to you too. Our Home is where it all happens, dining and entertaining our friends and family is important to us. So when you start to think of investing in your Home it’s important to me that you make the right choice. Having worked in the Tile industry for over 40 years there isn’t anything that I don’t know, starting out was interesting, and clearly very different to the world of retail now days. Seeing many large format Tile businesses arrive in the early Millennium focusing on price disappoints me, it disappoints me because customers don’t know what they are buying and more importantly they are not getting the right information upon making a purchase. However, knowing that I can be just as competitive even with offering a much superior service & product keeps me going. Starting my career back in the 80’s I found myself delivering a level of service many of my clients had never experienced before, this supported my employer at the time to grow into further premises. I engaged then with Nason’s Department Store Canterbury, who opened Nason’s Tile Drpartment and it was here that I developed our service as it is known today. It was here that I eventually started up on my own, taking space within Nason’s trading under the newly named ‘Canterbury Tiles’.  30 years on and I continue with my business values of

Simple traditional service

With me, You will find the best advise and service in the industry because I believe in listening to my customer needs, understanding their project (Big or Small) and advising on what is available to them. Taking into account a budget I can advise on the grade of the Tile (that’s right there are quality differences within Tiles) between 1 and 5. Grades of floor tiles, starting with grade 1, which are bare foot slipper wear, up to grade 5, which are genuinely at least frost resistant and sometimes frost proof. Variations of pattern is also important, variation was created to make a machine made tile look natural with less tiles looking identical. knowing your lifestyle also helps on advising you on what Tile to consider because some Tiles need more regular upkeep than others. Who has time for upkeep these days? And here is my point of difference….. With a no obligation Free Home visit I commit to bringing a selection of Tiles direct to your home. It is here that you will get to see what the chosen Tiles would look like in their future environment, taking into consideration the surroundings, colours and lighting of the proposed location. Finally, should nothing come of the visit to your home, I leave knowing that you have gained the best possible knowledge for any future decision you make. After all, knowing that I’m a 66 year old, genuinely traditional retailer Im sure you realise that there isn’t any pushy salesman tactics.

Best Regards

David Icke

We have many happy customers

We have used Canterbury Tiles to purchase tiles for inside our house, but weren’t sure if they did outdoor tiles, too. We needed to tile a swimming pool, and luckily David was able to help! Such a great service at a very affordable price. Thank you David!
